Tribeca 25
Directed by: Matt Tyrnauer
Featuring: Bono, Graydon Carter, Damien Chazelle, Jon M. Chu, Francis Ford Coppola, Cara Cusumano, Nia DaCosta, Robert De Niro, Whoopi Goldberg, Hugh Grant, Denis Leary, Nancy Lefkowitz, Nelson Mandela, Nas, Sheila Nevins, Jane Rosenthal, Julian Schnabel, Martin Scorsese, Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen
TRIBECA 25 is a film about reinvention. It traces how Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal’s grit and determination to bring people back downtown after 9/11 evolved into one of the most influential cultural festivals in the world.
It’s a film about a city and a moment. Through archival footage, interviews, and scenes from downtown, the film explores the relationship between art and civic life—how storytelling can help restore a sense of community after profound tragedy. The visual language of the film draws from Manhattan street photography.
It is, in many ways, a love letter to New York and to the movies—to the belief that storytelling is one of humanity’s oldest and most powerful acts: a way of making meaning, building community, and imagining what comes next.
Ultimately, it’s a story about resilience, creativity, and the enduring human need to gather, connect, and find meaning in moments of upheaval.
TRIBECA 25 comes to Netflix on September 11.

A wandering medium, Airi (Moeka Hoshi, “Shogun”), spends her life guiding restless spirits out of the world of the living accompanied by her constant companion: her dead sister Miku (Kurumi Inagaki). Summoned to exorcise a spirit from an isolated country house by the new owner, Teiko (Tae Kimura), she comes face to face with a grotesque apparition with powers that defy Airi’s experience. Faced with skepticism from Teiko’s son, Gunji (Kento Kako), she digs deeper into the house’s past until a secret comes to light — and Airi finds herself hunted by a far more unpredictable force. For the first time, her greatest adversary is not the supernatural, but the living. Director Dave Boyle spins a uniquely terrifying and hauntingly atmospheric ghost story.
